Searchlights for boats and ships

With a remote-controlled searchlight, you can spot buoys, docks, bridge passages, or a person in the water at night. The ACR RCL series ranges from over 100,000 candela for smaller boats to 460,000 candela, providing visibility of over half a nautical mile.

You choose based on three criteria: light intensity, control method (wired with Point Pad or wireless with handheld remote), and power supply. All LED models operate on 12 to 24 volts.

How would you like to operate the searchlight?

When it comes to a searchlight, everyone looks at light intensity first, but the control method is just as critical to your installation and future flexibility. It is also the point where people often experience regret later on.

Broadly speaking, there are two routes: wired with a fixed control panel at the helm, or wireless with a handheld remote. With a wired system, you have to run cables, but you never need to worry about batteries. With a wireless system, you only need to bring power to the light.

Think ahead about a second control station. Point Pad kits, splitters, and cable harnesses for a second station are available in this collection, including for the RCL-75, the RCL-95, and the RCL-100 LED. Preferably install that wiring during the initial installation; doing it afterward is significantly more work.

Can I add a second control station?

Yes. This collection includes Point Pad kits, splitters, and cable harnesses for a second station, including for the RCL-75, the RCL-95, and the RCL-100 LED. Preferably install the wiring during the initial installation.

I still have a halogen RCL-50B or RCL-100D. Are there bulbs available for those?

Yes. For the RCL-100D, we supply 55-watt spare bulbs in 12 volt and 24 volt versions. For the RCL-50B, these are 55-watt 12 volt and 70-watt 24 volt bulbs. When ordering, please pay attention to both voltage and wattage.

Do these searchlights work on 12 or 24 volts?

The RCL-50 LED is designed for 12 to 24 volts; the RCL-600A is a 24-volt version with a joystick. If you want to be sure about what a specific model requires for your onboard power system, check the product page or ask us for advice.

White or black, does it matter?

Not for performance. The RCL-50, RCL-85, RCL-95, and RCL-100 LED are all available in white and black; choose what suits your wheelhouse. If you are unsure about the combination of light, controller, and Point Pads, send us a photo of your current setup.

Where should I mount the searchlight?

On the wheelhouse or radar arch, high enough for an unobstructed view all around and positioned so the beam does not shine across your own deck or window — that will blind the helmsman. We can help you determine the location and handle installation from our Apeldoorn and Bruinisse locations.
