Original replacement bulb for your RCL-100D searchlight This is the original 55-watt ACR replacement bulb for the RCL-100D searchlight, in the 24-volt version. Same wattage as item number 6001, but for a different onboard power system.
That distinction is exactly where things go wrong during ordering. Two bulbs with the same wattage for the same searchlight, but with a different voltage. If you put a 24-volt bulb on a 12-volt system, it will burn too dimly. Conversely, it will burn too brightly and fail quickly. The label on your existing bulb tells you which one you need.
You will mainly encounter a 24-volt system on larger yachts, workboats, and in the commercial shipping industry. If you are considering replacement, the RCL-100 LED is the direct successor to the RCL-100D, and it operates on 12 to 24 volts.
Why choose the 55-watt bulb for the RCL-100D?
55 watts for 24 volts: the correct combination of wattage and voltage for this searchlight
Original ACR part: no alternative bulb that doesn't quite fit
Replaceable as a standalone part: the bulb is the consumable component, the rest of the light remains in good condition
Quickly resolved: having a spare bulb on board prevents a dark night
For 24-volt systems: common on larger yachts and commercial vessels
Who is this product for?
Intended for anyone with an ACR RCL-100D halogen searchlight on a 24-volt system. This is common on larger yachts, workboats, and commercial vessels. Verify that your onboard power system actually supplies 24 volts before ordering.
What is the benefit to you?
Your searchlight works again: without replacing the entire light
For 24-volt systems: common on larger yachts and commercial vessels
Same wattage, different voltage: note the difference with item number 6001
Original part: the correct voltage and fitting

Alternative in the long term
ACR's LED versions make bulb replacement unnecessary
For LED conversion
A halogen controller URC-102 does not work with an LED light head, see item 1949
Frequently asked questions
How do I know which bulb I need?
Check your existing bulb or the searchlight manual. Both the wattage and voltage must be correct. For these series, there are multiple bulbs that look similar on the outside but are not interchangeable.
What happens if the voltage is wrong?
A bulb intended for a lower voltage will burn too brightly and fail quickly. Conversely, it will burn too dimly and you will lose significant range.
What is the difference compared to item number 6001?
Item number 6001 is the same 55-watt bulb, but for 12 volts. The voltage must match your onboard power system; otherwise, the bulb will burn too brightly or too dimly.
