The ACR ResQLink View is a personal locator beacon, or PLB for short, with a digital display. The screen shows your live GPS coordinates and the beacon's status. 28-hour operating life, buoyant, no subscription required.
Personal emergency beacon with a display that lets you monitor the alarm process
The ACR ResQLink View is the version of the ResQLink that features a digital display. On this screen, you can see in real time what the beacon is doing: your GPS coordinates, the device's status, operating instructions, and outgoing transmission bursts. In an emergency, you no longer have to guess whether the device is doing its job.
Under the hood, it is the same proven ResQLink. Three signal technologies work together: GPS and Galileo for positioning, 406 MHz to the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network, and a 121.5 MHz homing signal for the final stretch. The beacon floats, weighs next to nothing, and works without a subscription.
Why choose the ResQLink View?
- Digital display: shows your live GPS coordinates, beacon status, and transmission bursts
- 28-hour operating life: longer than the ResQLink 400, which lasts for 24 hours or more
- No subscription required: one-time purchase, free registration
- Buoyant: built-in buoyancy
- Strobe and infrared strobe: visible in the dark and via night vision
- ACR Skins included: you can customize the beacon to your own taste
Who is this product for?
The View is intended for anyone who wants to see what is happening in an emergency situation. This reduces stress and helps you explain where you are once contact is established. Just as useful on the water as on land: for recreational and commercial vessel crews, as well as hikers, climbers, hunters, kayakers, and sports fishermen. If you also want confirmation that your distress signal has been received, take a look at the ResQLink View RLS.
What are the benefits for you?
- You see what the beacon is doing: no doubt about whether the device is actually transmitting
- Your own coordinates on screen: useful if you need to provide them later
- Longest operating life in the series without RLS: 28 hours of continuous transmission time
- No monthly costs: one-time purchase with no subscription
- Ready for five years: battery lasts for five years

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a PLB and an EPIRB?
A PLB, or personal locator beacon, is assigned to an individual and carried by you, whereas an EPIRB belongs to the ship and is kept in a fixed holder on board. A PLB is smaller and lighter, has a shorter operating life, and is always activated manually. An EPIRB is mandatory for commercial shipping; a PLB is a personal supplement.
Are there subscription costs?
No, you do not need a subscription. Registration of the beacon is free, and in most parts of the world, a rescue operation is also free of charge.
Do I need to register my PLB?
Yes, that is mandatory. In the Netherlands, you register a PLB with the Radiocommunications Agency (RDI). Unlike an EPIRB, you do not need an operating certificate for a PLB. Keep your information up to date and have the beacon registered to the new owner if sold.
How long does the battery last?
The battery lasts for five years and must be replaced after that, or sooner if you have used the beacon in an emergency. Replacement may only be performed by an ACR-authorized service center, as the device must be fully re-tested afterward.
Does the beacon work anywhere in the world?
Yes. A 406 MHz beacon works anywhere in the world, including both poles. You do need a clear view of the sky, so it will not work inside a building or in a cave.
What is the difference from the ResQLink 400?
There are three differences. The View has a digital display that shows the status and your GPS coordinates in real time, it has a 28-hour operating life compared to 24 hours or more for the 400, and it includes ACR Skins that allow you to personalize your beacon.
