The ACR RCL-95 LED in black delivers the same 440,000 candela as the white version, from ten 50-watt High Flux LEDs. The dark housing is the choice for vessels with a black superstructure, hardtop, or radar mast, where a white searchlight would be too conspicuous.
With a light of this intensity, that is more than just cosmetic. The more powerful the searchlight, the more stray light reflects off the housing itself at night and enters your field of vision. A dark housing noticeably dampens this, which is pleasant on a flybridge where the light is in your line of sight.
Furthermore, the technology is the same as the white version. The electronics are located in the IP68 water-resistant light head instead of in the base, which eliminates the most common weak point of a searchlight. Two controllers are included: a wired Point Pad and a wireless handheld remote. The light rotates 360 degrees continuously, tilts 135 degrees, and self-parks after switching off with the auto-home function.

What does candela mean for a searchlight?
Candela is the light intensity within the beam, not the total light output. For a searchlight, that is the number that counts because the light is focused to reach long distances. More candela therefore means seeing further, not a wider illuminated area.
What does the XRCiZ function do?
XRCiZ allows the searchlight to automatically rotate every thirty days. This keeps the bearing surfaces free of corrosion and the electrical contacts functioning. Especially for a light that sits unused on the roof for months, this prevents it from seizing up.
Does this searchlight work on 12 or 24 volts?
On both. This series works on 12 to 24 volts, so on virtually any onboard power system without an inverter.
What is the difference between the RCL-95 and the RCL-85?
At 440,000 candela, the RCL-95 is more than twice as strong as the 180,000 candela RCL-85. It tilts 135 degrees compared to 90 degrees and comes with both a wired Point Pad and a wireless handheld remote. The RCL-85 is more economical and easier to install.
