For an emergency beacon, a damaged antenna is not a cosmetic issue. The 406 MHz signal must reach the satellite, and a kinked or cracked antenna costs transmission power exactly when it counts. Can I replace the antenna myself?

How do I know if I have a GlobalFix V4?
The model number is on the beacon's label. For the GlobalFix V4, that is RLB-41. For the newer V5 and V6, these are RLB-44 and RLB-43, and they do not need this antenna.
