Service part for programming a PLB
This ACR cable connects a personal locator beacon to the FPR-30 or FPR-300 field programmer. It is used to input or adjust the registration data and country coding in the beacon.

This is strictly service equipment and not a part for the end user. Programming a 406 MHz beacon involves the identification code used by emergency services to identify you, and this should be done by an authorized service center. Service companies, boatyards, and dealers that maintain ACR beacons order this part to replace a damaged cable.

Why choose the PLB programming cable?

  • For the FPR-30 and FPR-300: the field programmers supplied by ACR for beacons
  • Original ACR part: the correct wiring and connection
  • Replaceable as a standalone part: for when a cable is damaged or lost
  • Service equipment: intended for authorized service points and dealers

Who is this product for?

Intended for service centers, dealers, and boatyards that program and maintain ACR emergency beacons. Not intended for end users, as programming a 406 MHz beacon affects the identification code upon which emergency services rely to identify you.

What are the benefits?

  • Your programming setup works again: without needing to replace the entire programmer
  • Original part: the correct connection for this equipment
  • Quickly resolved: individual part
  • No improvisation: a homemade cable can program a beacon incorrectly

Frequently asked questions

Can I program my beacon myself with this?

This is discouraged. The programming contains the identification code used by emergency services to recognize you in the event of an alarm. Errors in this can delay a rescue. Leave programming to an authorized service point.

Why would a beacon need to be reprogrammed?

For example, if the country coding changes, if the beacon is sold to a new owner, or when linking it to a different MMSI number.

What does "special order" mean for this item?
