Naviop EGON+ Power 12 V with 8 channels

The heavy-duty version of the EGON+ board, for consumers requiring more power. Eight channels, all with fuses and relays, each up to 30 A at 12 volts. Where the standard EGON+ board only protects half of its channels, you can switch all eight of these from your chartplotter.

This is the board you use for anchor windlass, bow thruster, refrigerator, air conditioning, or a powerful lighting circuit. Anything where 20 A is just a bit too tight.

What does this belong to?

Naviop is the digital switching system for B&G and Simrad. Instead of a panel full of switches and fuses, you operate your lighting, pumps, air conditioning, and other consumers from your chartplotter. B&G describes it as a system that connects all onboard facilities with a single touch, and it works in conjunction with B&G, Simrad, and Lowrance displays.

At its core, a system consists of three types of components: an OP-BOX that handles the processing and translates protocols, one or more EGON boards that contain the fuses and relays and are located close to the consumers, and DAU units that retrieve measurement data. They communicate via a CAN bus, so only one thin cable needs to run to the helm instead of a bundle for every switch.

Things to consider

An EGON board should be placed close to the consumers, not at the helm. That is the whole point of digital switching: heavy-duty power cables remain short, and only a thin CAN cable runs to the helm. Think about that first when designing your installation.

Calculate your power requirements per channel before choosing between a standard EGON+ board and the Power version. A channel that is structurally at its limit is a channel you will see again in the future.
