The compact emergency bag that you hang on a bulkhead and grab on the go
The ACR RapidDitch Express is the smaller sibling of the RapidDitch. More compact, lighter, and supplied with a mount that allows you to hang the bag on a bulkhead. The latter is the difference that counts: an emergency bag in a fixed, visible location can be grabbed by anyone on board, even someone unfamiliar with the vessel.

The bag measures approximately 53 by 15 by 37 centimeters and weighs 0.68 kilograms when empty. The exterior is 600 denier polyester with a reflective finish, and the interior is 210 denier. The striking high-visibility yellow color aids in locating it on the water. With its built-in floats, the bag remains buoyant with up to approximately seven kilograms of contents.

Two thoughtful details: there is an exterior pocket where you can store your EPIRB, allowing you to grab and activate it without opening the entire bag. And just like the larger version, you can detach the shoulder strap and convert it into two safety tethers of over a meter each, which can be used to tether crew members to one another in the water.

Why choose the RapidDitch Express?

  • Bulkhead mount included: hang the bag in a fixed, visible spot on board
  • Exterior pocket for your EPIRB: grab and activate your beacon without opening the bag
  • Floats with your gear inside: up to approximately seven kilograms of contents
  • Shoulder strap becomes a safety tether: two tethers of over a meter to connect crew members
  • Reflective and high-visibility yellow: helps rescue teams find you
  • Compact and light: 0.68 kilograms empty, also fits on smaller vessels

Who is this product for?

Intended for vessels where space is limited but an emergency bag is still essential: smaller sailing yachts, motorboats, sport fishing boats, and workboats. Due to the bulkhead mounting, it is also a logical choice for charter vessels and rental boats, where changing crews need to see where the emergency bag is hanging without needing an explanation. Larger vessels with more equipment typically choose the roomier RapidDitch.

What are the benefits for you?

  • Everyone knows where it hangs: a fixed spot on the bulkhead prevents searching
  • Your beacon is immediately at hand: the exterior pocket provides direct access to your EPIRB
  • Your gear won't go to the bottom: the bag floats with the contents inside
  • The crew stays together: the converted shoulder strap connects life jackets
  • Fits on a smaller vessel: more compact than the regular RapidDitch

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the regular RapidDitch?

The Express is more compact, floats with up to approximately seven kilograms instead of twenty-five, and is supplied with a bulkhead mount. The regular RapidDitch with item number 2278 is larger and carries more equipment.

Where is the best place to hang the bag?

In an easily accessible, visible location near the exit to the deck. This allows someone who is not familiar with the ship to take it along without searching.

What belongs in an emergency bag?

At the very least your emergency beacon, a VHF radio, distress signals, first aid kit, drinking water, a flashlight, and copies of your ship's documents. Keep the total weight light enough so that the bag still floats.
