This is the optional telescopic mounting pole from ACR for the Pathfinder SART. It positions the transponder higher up in a life raft, increasing range because radar and AIS operate on line-of-sight.
Telescopic pole that positions your SART higher to improve visibility The optional telescopic mounting pole from ACR clicks into the bottom of the Pathfinder PRO or Pathfinder AIS SART. This allows you to mount the transponder as high as possible in a life raft, which makes an immediate difference: the higher the SART is positioned, the further the signal carries and the sooner an approaching vessel will detect you.
In a raft, everything is low to the water, between the waves. A SART held in your lap therefore has a much smaller range than the same SART positioned a meter higher. This pole solves that without requiring someone to hold it up the entire time.
Why choose the Pathfinder mounting pole?
Increased range: positioning the SART higher means ships will detect you sooner
Hands-free: no one needs to hold the device for hours on end
Telescopic: compact to store and quick to extend
For both models: suitable for the Pathfinder PRO and the Pathfinder AIS
Who is this product for?
Intended for vessels that have a SART on board and are seriously considering a scenario where the crew ends up in a life raft. For merchant shipping, fishing, and charter vessels, this is a small investment that makes a significant difference in such a scenario.
What are the benefits for you?
Get found sooner: with radar and AIS, height is one of the most important factors for range
Hands-free: the crew can focus on other tasks
Requires little space: when collapsed, the pole takes up hardly any room
Original ACR part: fits directly onto the bottom of the Pathfinder

Frequently asked questions
Why should I use a pole instead of holding the SART?
Because height is decisive for range. Radar and AIS operate on line-of-sight, so a SART lying low between waves will be detected much later. With the pole, the device remains stable and high, and no one has to hold it for hours.
Does the pole fit both Pathfinder models?
Yes. The pole is an optional accessory for both the Pathfinder PRO and the Pathfinder AIS.
