Naviop OP-BOX 1 GHz programmable, including power cable
The OP-BOX is the heart of a Naviop system: a compact unit with a 1 GHz processor that collects data from EGON boards and DAU units, translates between onboard protocols, and provides the control pages you see on your chartplotter. This version is supplied including a power cable, so you can connect it immediately.
The unit is PLC-programmable. The controls are therefore not fixed to factory settings but are configured specifically for your vessel: which button operates which group, which values are displayed on which page, and which actions should happen automatically, for example, the anchor light turning on as soon as the windlass is used, or receiving a notification if the bilge pump runs more often than normal.
What does this belong to?
Naviop is the digital switching system from B&G and Simrad. Instead of a panel full of switches and fuses, you control your lighting, pumps, air conditioning, and other consumers from your chartplotter. B&G describes it as a system that connects all amenities on board with a single touch, and it works with B&G, Simrad, and Lowrance displays.
A system consists essentially of three types of components: this OP-BOX, one or more EGON boards with fuses and relays, and DAU units that retrieve sensor data. They communicate with each other via a CAN bus, meaning only one thin cable needs to go to the helm instead of a bundle for every switch.
What to look out for
The OP-BOX is the component that defines the system. Which version you need depends on the LOOP level you are installing and how many modules need to be connected to it. Do not order it separately without considering the rest of the setup. Give us a call, and we can go through the parts list together.
Configuration is done via a laptop with Naviop software. You will also need the USB cable for the OP-BOX for this.
Buying from AML International
Digital switching is not a box you just buy off the shelf. It is a system that is designed for your specific vessel. Tell us what you want to control and what is currently on board, and we will put together the parts list and assist with the configuration. View our power and switching range or contact us.
